Brushean represents a first-of-its-kind product that introduced modern consumer technology into the beauty care industry.

When the client approached us, they presented a clear problem: dirty makeup brushes. Without proper cleaning, brushes can harbor bacteria, dirt, and germs that may lead to breakouts, irritation, and infection. While many users understand the issue, regular cleaning of fine-bristle brushes is often too inconvenient for daily routines.

High-intensity UV sanitation technology provided a compelling solution, though several design and development challenges needed to be addressed. The device had to be compact for limited counter spaces, allow quick one-handed access, remain easy to clean with minimal bacteria-trapping details, and be efficiently engineered for rapid, cost-effective manufacturing to achieve first-to-market positioning.

Brushean required integrated expertise across Industrial Design, Product Engineering, Prototyping, Branding, and Manufacturing to successfully bring the product to market. Through Kickstarter crowdfunding, the client secured the funding needed to launch production and establish the venture.
